The Tribal Building in Cedar City (440 N. Paiute Drive) will remain open overnight if you plan to travel to Cedar for shelter. Please keep all receipts and contact Gari, Laurel, or Tyler so we can get food! (contacts below)

The Kanosh Band Reservation remains under evacuation. The Paiute Tribe recommends following county/state evacuation orders.
If you have returned home or are planning to return, please be prepared to leave immediately if conditions change. Keep your phones charged, turned on, and nearby so emergency notices can be relayed.
The Paiute Tribe staff will be traveling to Kanosh tomorrow and expect to arrive around 10:00 AM. If there are any specific needs for tribal members, please contact Gari Lafferty, Laurel Yellowhorse, or Tyler Prisbrey before 8:45 AM so we can do our best to assist.

Chairwoman Yellowhorse has received the latest fire updates. The fire is now moving toward Joseph, and she is actively coordinating with the Kanosh and Koosharem Band Chairs, Paiute Housing Authority, the Unit Fire Chief, and other responding agencies to monitor the situation and coordinate resources.
We will continue providing updates as new information becomes available, with the goal of sharing updates every few hours. Please stay safe, remain alert, and be ready to evacuate if instructed.

The evacuation shelter is now located at the Fillmore Armory, 45 W. Center St., Fillmore, UT

STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARATION:
At 4:20 a.m., the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah has declared a state of emergency for the Kanosh Band Reservation. All Tribal Members should go to the Fillmore Stake Center for immediate shelter, 25 S. 300 W., Fillmore, UT.
