PROTECT YOURSELF THIS SEASON Getting a flu shot every year is a safe and effective way to help protect yourself from influenza (the flu). While the flu shot is not a 100-percent guarantee that you won't catch the flue, the vaccine can reduce your risk of getting sick, lessen symptoms if you do get the flu, and help prevent serious complications. Flu shots are recommended for most people ages 6 months and older. Common side effects are usually mild and may include soreness at the injection site, fatigue, or a low-grade fever. Talk with your healthcare provider if you have questions about the flu vaccine.
