PITU is working with Southern Utah University to develop the curriculum for the Paiute Government Class being taught in the fall by PITU Puow’wan Program Manager Tamra Borchardt-Slayton. The class is being offered to high school students, but we hope to be able to offer it to the entire community in 2027.
The class starts with a discussion of boarding schools and then moves into the Termination Era up through the 1984 Reservation Plan.
