On Saturday, May 16, the PITU Elders, Youth, and Cultural Resource Department had the honor of taking our elders and youth to the Uintah & Ouray Reservation for the 2026 Whiterocks Old Style Bear Dance.
Our elders and youth enjoyed the scenic drive to Whiterocks, Utah, and a meaningful weekend together.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Bear Dance Chief, Paul LaRose, as well as the volunteers, cooks, singers, and fire keepers for their incredible hospitality. Thank you for keeping us fed, warm, and welcomed throughout the gathering.
We are thankful to have shared in this experience, met new friends, reconnected with old friends, and to continue in passing these traditions on to our younger generations.
Aiyak (thank you)!
