The Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah is leading the charge in championing the Indian Family Preservation Act – designated H.B. 30 in the 2025 Utah Legislature – and we are seeking Tribal member support.
The Indian Family Preservation Act seeks to strengthen family bonds, empower local communities, and promote culturally aligned solutions for Native children by giving tribes the right to develop and implement tribal foster home standards, taking into account what constitutes the “best interests of an Indian child” and addressing jurisdiction over child custody proceedings.
