As the temperatures drop, staying active can be a challenge, but fall is a great time to mix up your routine. Here are a few ideas to stay active during the cooler months.

Outdoor options:
Enjoy the cooler air with a brisk walk, hike, or bike ride. Layer up and enjoy the color changes while staying active.

Indoor activities:
If the colder weather isn’t your jam, you can try out home workouts like yoga, resistance band or hand weight exercises, or online fitness videos to keep your heart rate up.

Watch those electrolytes!
Whatever you choose, remember to stay hydrated, and if you’re doing over an hour of physical activity, replenish your electrolytes, which are essential for heart, muscle, nerve, and brain function. This can be done with sports drinks, but electrolyte-infused water has much less sugar and no dyes. And the reality is, eating a healthy diet rich in whole foods, especially fruits and vegetables, and minimizing processed foods is the best way to keep your electrolyte levels in balance.
