One of the lessons we emphasize with our youth is the importance of movement in our lives. For our Native American community, embracing movement is not just about physical activity; it’s a way to connect with our heritage, our land, and each other.
Movement enhances our physical and mental well-being, fostering resilience and unity. It reminds us of our traditions, whether through traditional dances, outdoor activities, or simply gathering with family and friends. By prioritizing movement, we can honor our ancestors while taking care of ourselves and our community
.
As we go into the winter months when it’s a little harder to convince ourselves to get outside, let’s work together and encourage one another to incorporate more movement into our daily routines. Whether it’s walking, dancing, or participating in community events, every step counts. Together, we can create a healthier, more vibrant community.
