As Halloween approaches, we want to make sure you have a fantastic time while staying safe. Here are some tips to keep your night fun and secure:

  • Stay visible: Wear bright or reflective costumes and carry a flashlight to make sure you’re seen by drivers.
  • Use face paint instead of masks: Masks can obstruct vision, which can be dangerous when you’re out on the streets. Use face paint or makeup to complete your look.
  • Stick to well-lit areas: Trick-or-treat in familiar, well-lit neighborhoods and avoid shortcuts through alleys or unlit areas.
  • Travel in groups: Always go out with friends or family. There’s safety in numbers!
  • Check your candy: Before digging into your treats, have an adult inspect them to make sure they’re unopened and safe to eat.
  • Walk, don’t run: Move at a steady pace to avoid accidents. Running can lead to tripping and falls.
  • Use crosswalks: Cross streets at marked crosswalks, and look both ways before crossing.
  • Be respectful: Respect people’s property and be polite. Say “thank you” and don’t take more candy than you’re given.

Have an amazing Halloween, and remember to make safety part of your fun!

Stay safe and enjoy the spookiness!
