Do you have kids back in school? Check out these tips for both kids and adults.
Remember the ABCs!
- Avoid Avoiding – Help your child to try difficult or new things. Avoiding makes anxiety worse.
- Be Positive and Teach Healthy Coping
- Positive self-talk and gratitude can decrease worries and build self-esteem.
- Use Five-Finger Breathing to calm the body and mind (more information here).
- Calm Down – Seek to understand and support your child through their fears and struggles. Demonstrate healthy coping. Kids are always watching and learning.
- Don’t Wait or ignore the problem. Seek help.
- Exercise, Eat Healthy, and Get Adequate Sleep.
- Focus on Family Fun – Reduce screen time and engage in activities that promote bonding and strengthen family ties.
