DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS

Since October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, it’s a good time to talk about what makes a relationship healthy.

✅ In a healthy relationship:

  • People are safe, kind, and respectful to each other.
  • They talk honestly and listen to each other.
  • They make decisions together and share control.
  • They trust and support each other.
  • They let each other have their own space, friends, and independence.
  • You enjoy being together, have fun, and laugh often.

🚩 In an unhealthy relationship:

  • One person tries to control the other and make all the decisions.
  • Things feel unsafe and unfair.
  • There is constant tension or walking on eggshells.
  • There is dishonesty or hiding things, yelling, threats, fear, or violence.
