FREE MEAL OPTIONS

June is National Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Month, a time to celebrate healthy eating and the importance of produce in our daily lives. To support this initiative, the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah Puow’wan Program has partnered with the Utah Food Bank to help ensure children in our communities have access to nutritious meals during the summer. Now through August 8, families have the opportunity to get free meals to all youth ages 18 and under through two types of sites: Open Site or Multi-Day Meal Sites.

OPEN SITES

You have hopefully already seen our announcements on social media and in a previous Every Friday about Open Sites, which are available to all youth in the community and require meals to be eaten on-site. This includes places like Cedar Main Street Park in Cedar City, which serves meals from noon to 1:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding all major holidays. To find a site near you, text “SUMMER” to 914-342-7744 Or visit utahfoodbank.org/summermeals to find a site near you. There are locations in Marysvale, Circleville, and several locations in southern Utah. If you use the map on their website, make sure you check the radius around your location.

MULTI-DAY MEAL SITES

Multi-Day Meal Sites, found in rural areas like Shivwits and Enoch, offer a week’s worth of breakfasts and lunches in take-home kits. Shivwits distributes kits every Monday from noon to 12:45 p.m. at the Shivwits Clinic (if your child would like a ride over and they do not live in Shivwits, contact Everson with Youth Services), and Enoch provides them every Wednesday from 10:15–11:00 a.m. at Boebert Park, 15 E. Midvalley Road.

If you are in crisis or need additional support, reach out to Family Services at (435) 586-1112 to see if you qualify for other assistance programs.
