HONORING THE PI’YUM (HEART) OF OUR COMMUNITIES
We proudly recognize March as Social Work Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the incredible dedication, compassion, and resilience of social workers everywhere—and the entire family service team.
Social workers are the bridge between individuals and the resources they need to thrive. They advocate for justice, provide critical support, and uplift voices that often go unheard. Their work is vital in every corner of our communities—from child welfare and mental health to elder care, housing, and crisis response.
We also want to highlight the importance of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and the crucial role our team plays in honoring and protecting Native children, families, and tribal communities. Upholding ICWA is not just a legal obligation—it’s a moral commitment to cultural preservation, tribal sovereignty, and the well-being of Native youth.
Importantly, we recognize that this work doesn’t fall solely on the shoulders of licensed social workers. Many of our team members—family support staff, cultural liaisons, and others—may not hold a social work license, but their impact is just as powerful. They show up every day with empathy, dedication, and an unwavering focus on strengthening families and communities.
To our incredible Family Service Team and Behavioral Health Team: A’yuik (thank you)! Your tireless commitment, deep empathy, and unwavering integrity do not go unnoticed. You make a difference—every single day—and we are grateful beyond words for all that you do.
