Our Puow’wan (“families”) are the piyum (“heart”) of our Tribal community, and when hardships arise, we stand together to provide support. The Strengthening Families Program is here to assist Tribal members facing financial crises by offering limited funding for crisis assistance, respite care, one-time emergency rental assistance, and one-time emergency assistance. This program is intended for families with children in the household. While funding is limited, and the program will end in June 2025, we encourage those in need to reach out for available support.
What We Offer:
· Family Crisis Assistance – Emergency food, clothing, and household item vouchers, and other essential aid for Tribal members facing economic hardship.
· Respite Care – Short-term relief for caregivers to support family well-being.
· One-Time Emergency Rental Assistance (up to $500) – Limited financial assistance for families experiencing urgent housing instability.
· One-Time Emergency Assistance – Financial aid for families facing unexpected emergencies, such as utility shut-offs or urgent household needs.
Understanding Crisis
A crisis can take many forms, from sudden job loss and medical emergencies to natural disasters or other unforeseen hardships that put a family’s well-being at risk. Our goal is to provide immediate relief and connect families to resources that promote stability and resilience.
Rooted in Culture and Community
We believe that family and cultural connections are essential to healing and strength. Our program is guided by the values of community support, ensuring that those in need receive aid with dignity and respect.
If you or someone you know is facing a crisis, please reach out to a Family Services staff member to see if you qualify for assistance. We are here to support you in times of need—because when we take care of each other, our entire community grows stronger.
