LIHEAP PROGRAM & CLINICS

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) plays a critical role in helping eligible households maintain safe and reliable heating during the colder months, reducing the risk of utility shutoffs and supporting overall household stability.

To qualify, applicants must be enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe, meet established income eligibility thresholds, and must not have already applied for or received heating assistance from another agency for the same program year. Households facing an emergency shutoff are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as processing times are critical.

Once a complete application is received, processing may take up to 25 business days. Applications that are missing required or proper documentation will be denied within 15 days if the applicant does not have all required documentation submitted at that point.

To better assist the public, in-person application clinics will be held at the Koosharem, Shivwits, and Kanosh band buildingfollowing locations: at the flier attached. Members may also apply online by setting up a secure member portal at https://pitu.gov/liheap/, offering a convenient option to submit applications and required documents.
