As we learned at Paxetsi Pai Day two weekends ago, Fish Lake has considerable cultural significance to the Paiute Tribe. It is also ecologically important as one of several great places in the state to see Utah’s kokanee salmon as they run upstream to lay their eggs.

To learn more about the kokanee salmon and find out other locations to view the fall spawning, check out the “Environmental News & Events” tab on the PITU Environmental Program webpage.

The Environmental Program webpage also has an air quality map and other state environmental resources.
