Birds are very sacred to the Nung’Wu people. We have many stories and songs that speak of birds and their magnificent contributions to our culture. Bird feathers are used for traditional regalia and ceremonial prayer practices. The returning of the birds in late April reminds of us of the new transition of Mother Earth to welcome the spring season.
