The Paiute Plant of the Month for August is creosote – Yutump’ (Click here for the pronunciation).
Creosote was used medicinally for upset stomach, colds, rheumatoid arthritis, and skin ailments such as sunburns. Leaves were boiled and then either drank or rubbed on the skin.
