Pinyon pine – Tuvap (Click here for the pronunciation).
Pinyon pines are probably best known for their edible seeds, commonly called pine nuts, but almost all parts of the tree, from pitch to needles to bark, were used for medicinal purposes. The pitch was also used for practical purposes such as making dyes and jewelry, as well as for waterproofing. The wood itself was also a valuable material.
