According to www.OrangeShirtDay.org, events on Sept. 30 are meant to “commemorate the residential school experience, to witness and honor the healing journey of the survivors and their families, and to commit to the ongoing process of reconciliation.”
Specific to the Nung’wu, we wear orange shirts to honor our pee’soatseng (children) lost to the Panguitch Boarding School. On Monday, please wear orange and take time to remember all those that suffered at the hands of Indian boarding schools no matter the location.
We also have social media posts reminding people and hope you will post your pictures in the comments of those posts.
