The Southern Paiute Language Preservation Kick-Off Meeting was a great success. We want to thank all those who attended, participated, and have provided feedback. For those who missed the meeting, you can review the PowerPoint presentation here.

Many PITU Tribal members and community members shared their passion for this project, while inviting more individuals to join our preservation efforts. Shane Parashonts, Tribal Administrator assured all that this preservation project is for the Paiute people. Any and all proceeds will be the proprietary of the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah. Shane also guaranteed that culturally significant items will only be shared publicly as deemed appropriate by the Tribal members.

Chairwoman Bow said, “If there is one person that can still speak the Paiute language, we still have hope… as long as we all stand together.” In our efforts to stand together and perpetuate this project, we are inviting all to submit feedback and volunteer to preserve our Southern Paiute language, heritage, and culture.
