Zion National Park is inviting Southern Paiutes to camp in the reconstructed South Campground prior to opening to the public and visitors. The weekend available to Tribal Members will be May 8-10, 2026 (Friday to Sunday). The campground will only be open to Tribal Members.

Park staff will assist on Friday as members and families settle into campsites but otherwise plan not to be in the way. Members can show up on Friday or Saturday to camp, although there might not be NPS staff assisting on Saturday. The South Campground amphitheater will be open for a ranger program if desired or for Southern Paiute use throughout the weekend, whichever is preferred.

Other important details:

• Reservations are NOT required.
• There is no cost to camp or enter the park; tell entrance station staff you are a Tribal Member and part of the camping group.
• Campers must provide their own camping gear.
• Fire restrictions may be in place, so prepare to bring a propane grill for cooking. Please check here for any restrictions prior to coming.
